Terms of service / ground rules

Last updated: October 2026

Your use of apisimul.com (the "Site") is governed by the terms below. By continuing to use the Site you agree to them.

APISimul does one thing — as a browser-based API mock simulator it intercepts fetch and XHR calls with a service worker so you can test a front end against fake endpoints without running a backend. The service worker registers a request handler that matches your rules by method and URL pattern, then returns the status code, latency and JSON body you configured before the request ever reaches the network. What follows concerns only that tool and the inputs involved in it.

In day-to-day use the tool works only from the mock rules, status codes and response bodies you define, and it is usually opened for things like building a UI before the real API exists. None of that reaches us, so none of it can be stored.

The service we provide

The Site provides a browser-based API mock simulator and explanatory material, free of charge, for general information and education. Results are estimates derived from the inputs you supply using the method described on the page. Output from a developer tool is intended for you to review and test; responsibility for what you do with it stays with you.

Not professional advice

No professional relationship arises from your use of the Site, and any decision you base on a result is your own responsibility.

Errors and completeness

Correctness is a goal, not a warranty: results may contain errors and the content may lag changes in the field. Where the underlying method has a margin of error, read the output accordingly.

Permitted and prohibited use

Use the Site freely for yourself or your work. What is not allowed: disrupting the service, scraping it hard enough to hurt performance for others, claiming it as your own, or any unlawful purpose.

Copyright and ownership

Ownership of the Site's copy, layout and code lies with us or our licensors. Link freely; ask in writing before reproducing substantial parts.

Third-party content and advertising

Advertising from third parties supports the Site, and external links may appear for reference. We are not responsible for what those third parties do. Ads never change a result.

Service availability

The Site comes as it is, with no uptime guarantee. Tools and pages may be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time.

What we are not liable for

As far as the law permits, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss and for any decision taken in reliance on a result from the Site.

Governing law

Applicable law is that of the operator's jurisdiction, regardless of conflict-of-law provisions.

Reviewing what a tool produces

What a developer tool emits is a draft. Nothing generated here should reach production without being reviewed and tested against your own requirements first.
